Bath & Body Works Fall Mini Candle

*Disclaimer: I received this product complimentary through Influenster’s VoxBox program!*

Hi my beauties!

I was selected to receive another VoxBox! This is the coolest box yet, you just sign up on their website and boom! You're eligible.

In the Beauty Blogger VoxBox I received a mini Bath & Body Works fall candle.
I got "Cider Lane" and oh my God, while it's burning it smells just like an apple orchard, with a hint of caramel. To me, it epitomizes fall. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I love it so much, I bought a 3 wick along with 4 other fall scents. Yes, I'm that obsessed.

Gorgeous right?!

According to Bath & Body Works:

"Highly fragranced candle exclusively developed and tested by our team of Home Fragrance experts, including the world's best master perfumers. Made using the highest concentration of fragrance oils, an exclusive blend of vegetable wax and lead-free wicks for optimal performance."

I couldn't agree more. I highly suggest you guys check it out. Even if you don't want to buy a candle, just smell it. JUST SMELL IT!

If you are looking to purchase it, the candle prices are as follows -

Mini Candle $3.50; Small Candle $9.50; Medium Candle $12.50; 3-Wick Candle $19.50

Check out the huge range of scents in their candles, lotions, body washes, and home scents!

Also, if you search retailmenot.com, they are always having coupon codes for free mini's, or free shipping. It's pretty awesome. I never buy anything without checking that site first.

Aside from fall fragrances, they have amazing permanent collection scents. I personally can't wait until their holiday collection comes out. One large candle fills my living room and dining room amazingly. I've been buying these candles for years, and I love them. I also love Yankee Candle, but since you can't purchase them online, I just get Bath & Body Works ones now ;]

I hope you guys check these candles out. Let me know which ones are your favorite. I am ALWAYS looking for new scents for my house!

Lots of Love,

Wet 'n Wild "Comfort Zone" Palette

First of all, today was my first day back to college! I had intro to psychology today, and a dimensions class tomorrow. For as nervous as I was, it was a walk in the park, just like the old days.

So on my way back from lunch with the boyfriend, I had to stop at walgreens to get some prescriptions. I figured I deserved a little treat for actually getting up and going this morning!

I know I am really late on this bandwagon, but until today I had never been able to find this palette. Until today! I finally have the Comfort Zone palette from Wet 'n Wild. It really is a pretty palette. I think I will be using it a lot in the mornings before class because the colors have such a variety that I can make several daytime appropriate [not that I care about day/night rules] makeup looks quickly!

The colors are very pigmented. Not surprising since this line makes some pretty good shadows for the price you pay. More expensive doesn't ALWAYS mean better :]

I also got another Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain. I already have "Honey" which I LOVE. Leighannsays on YouTube made a video all about them, and thus has hooked me :] Here is a link to her video if you either haven't seen it or are interested - CLiCKiTY CLiCK! Anyway, today I picked up "Darling". I really like it, a really pretty purple.

Look forward to some posts using both the palette and the balm stain, now that I will be doing actual makeup [besides liner and mascara] on a more regular basis!

Lots of Love,
XOXO Mary

Fall Makeup Trends 2012

Fall is right around the corner and that means new makeup trends for a new season. Of course there are staples and repeats that are usually dubbed "fall makeup" like strong brows and red lips but this year there are a few looks that are a little more... out there. I chose the 5 I like the most. There are so many sites and magazines out that will tell you all of them, but I am showcasing the ones I feel are most user friendly, usable.
So here are my top 5 trends for fall!

1. Futuristic Eyes
Makeup artists went crazy applying grease paint around the eyes at Prada and smudging black kohl liners at Marc Jacobs. The runway looks are always more extreme but, you can push the envelope a little more than usual with dramatic dark carbon black liner applied thickly and saturated eye shadows past your outer corner for that dramatic pop.

2. Blackberry Lips
Red is always on the list of trends for fall but the trend this year is a deep mulled-wine or "blackberry" stain with chocolate brown undertones. You can go for a creamy matte all the way to a high patent-leather looking gloss. The best way to wear this look is with a FLAWLESS face. The saturation can be as sheer or as opaque as you dare, but remember to exfoliate those lips for a flake-free pout. To see a PERFECT way to get this look, check this video by Jackie. It's perfection.

3. Defined Brows

Always on point with fall. Play up your brow shape by feathering on pencils and shadows to really bring out your arch — and just for fun, the daring can even add a few sparkles like were seen on the runway.

4. Mesmerizing Multi-Toned Eyes

Statement-making eyes, the kind of jewel tones like blue-brown, cool greens, and cobalt. For a chic look, go for shadows with hints of silver or gold mixed into the color to soften the effect and complement your skin tone.

5. Smoky Browns

Fashion shows and make up companies love to reinvent black. This year, brown is "the new black". The nice  thing about brown is its versatility. You can go chocolate or tan and it can be layered on for more or less intensity and suits all complexions. Try rimming your eyes with anything from khaki to mocha, then blurring it out for a smoldering look.

I have plans to create some of these trends and put them on here. Is anyone going to try any of these new and improved staples of fall trends??

Lots of Love,
XOXO Mary

What's in my beach bag [and NOTW]

Unfortunately the summer is coming to an end, and this is a very late post. However, I finally got myself to the beach and I figured I would give you a peek into what I bring for my basic, bare minimum essentials.

I have a 6 year old so most of the things I bring to the beach are pails and shovels, so here is what I stick in the bag to stay comfortable and enjoy the day along with my little one.

The wicker/bamboo bag is SEASONS old, but it works and it's beachy so I still use it.
Looking into getting a Victoria's Secret Pink one for next summer :]

So, in my bag is:
- my inhaler [if I do a little too much underwater swimming]
- a Dovebody mist [gotta be fresh]
- my phone
- a camera
- facial wipes [they are so refreshing]
- my 50 spf Chapstick [ever had burned lips? I have. OUCH.]
- a mini pouch for cash, keys, whatever.
- a hair tie
- a hair clip
- an spf lipstick [i have Stila's "Charlotte"]
- a towel

That's what I bring to the beach with me. I feel like it's everything I need and I'm not lugging around a 50lb bag! I feel like most people bring the same things.

Now, my nails of the week!

Revlon's "Dreamer"

It's a slightly deeper sky muted blue. I've had it on my nails for a week and I have no chips.
I'm having really good luck with Revlon's nail polishes, they are staying looking freshly painted for a week if not longer. I know it's the polish because it's the only thing that changes when I do my nails.
I'm impressed :]

I can't wait to start bringing out the fall polishes. What are your favorite fall nail colors?

I hope you all had a fab week, and an even better weekend!

DIY lipstain?! YES.

Tonight's Quickie Post!

You can make a lip stain at home.
Yes, I said at home.

This is so easy, I don't know why my brain didn't piece this together ages ago.

You need 2 things.
Vaseline & Kool-Aid.

1 teaspoon of desired color Kool-aid
3 teaspoons Vaseline

Directions :
Mix a smidge of water and the drink mix together until the mix is completely dissolved, stir in Vaseline until smooth.

Try it. It's really cool once you do!

So I put the whole concoction in a recycled Carmex jar and now it’s all ready to be added into a makeup collection.

Goodnight and be Kool!

Lots of Love,

Too Faced Lemon Drop Review and NOTW!

Happy Sunday my loves!

Today I am going to post my thoughts on Too Faced's new Shadow Insurance in Lemon Drop and show you my nails of the week!

The new Shadow Insurance Lemon Drop Color Correcting Eye Shadow Primer is quickly becoming my favorite shadow primer. I still love, love, love the original Shadow Insurance, however I find myself reaching for this one more.

This primer has a lemon yellow color to it that is supposed to reduce redness and "ruddiness" while making your shadows vibrant and budge proof. I agree.

The yellow really does help the veining and the natural darkness I have on my lids [thanks Italian dad!]. The primer is actually yellow, and dries to a smooth, SLIGHT shimmery finish. Unless someone is examining your eyelid, it's barely detectable. However, golds and highlight colors do seem to look more amazing on top of it.

Fun Fact: While I was playing around with it, I decided to see how it would act as a primer to my under eye concealer since I have the same color issues under there. It worked! I feel like I have found a real gem and this primer is well worth the investment.

Here are the stats and what Too Faced has to say about their product:

Price: $18
Size: .35 ounces
Paraben free

From the Too Faced website:

Corrective Formula: Our lemon-yellow, formula creates the perfect neutral canvas for any eye shadow.

Long Wearing: Exclusive blend intensifies pigments and guarantees shadows won’t crease, smudge or fade.

Soothing: Our vitamin enriched formula glides over lids, smoothing sensitive skin while leaving behind a feather-light, cashmere finish.

Don't let the price scare you, a little goes a very long way, and I feel like this will last me forever! If you're in the market for a new primer, give this one a try. If you do try it, let me know how you liked it!

Now, my nails of the week!

Every Sunday I give myself my weekly manicure. This week I used Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails in "No Hard Feelings" and of course Seche Vite as my topcoat, ALWAYS. If you'd like a post on how I do a professional mani at home, just let me know :]

I hope you all had a good weekend, and good luck on your Monday's ;]

Spring Beauty VoxBox!

~SPRING BEAUTY VOXBOX~
YAY!

I got the e-mail at the end of March saying I had been selected to receive Influenster's Spring Beauty VoxBox and I had been checking my mail everyday. I am so excited! This box was definitely full of goodies! In this post, I'll tell you everything that is in ^that box!

This first thing is by far in the top 3 of things I received - Sheer Cover concealer! I LOVE concealers, I can never get enough, and it's amazing. It's so creamy and blendable. Mine came in medium and it's perfect. I use it under my eyes and over some pigmentation on my face and so far... LOVE!

Next, I got a FULL SIZE Bath & Body Works fragrance mist in Japanese Cherry Blossom. I swear they were in my head when they made this box. This scent is my favorite permanent collection scent. I can see myself going through this quickly.

Next is a chapstick. Not just any chapstick, but an SPF 50 balm. Now, if you've ever felt the pain of sunburned lips, this is going to save your summer! I unfortunately have and I can't wait to wear this to the beach!

I also got an Aveno daily moisturizer. I love Aveno, it's a simple moisturizer and I love it. Now I have a backup :]

I also received Sally Hansen's Nail Effects... Cheetah print! I'm going to use it on my toes since I have gel nails. How cute for summer right?! Cheetah toes and flip flops? Adorable.

I gave 2 things to my mom because she uses them both! I got a soyjoy snack bar, and Dr.Scholl's ball cushions. She wears heels to work and swears by them, and I have her the bar because I can't have soy. But in any case, these are pretty good inserts to this box.

So that's all. I think it is an AMAZING box. And no, I'm not just saying that because I was picked to get this box. I really, really love the concealer and the chapstick. And the body mist. And the nail effects. Lol, I loved it all and thank Influenster very much for selecting me!

Lots of Love,
XOXO Mary

My Road to Healthy: Getting (and staying!) Motivated

Motivation.
This is by far the hardest part of my journey to getting healthy. I have the food/diet down, and I'm sticking to it really well. I've been cooking alot and have found a TON of things that are good for me and really good. But exercising? Not so much. In the beginning it's such a novelty, you're pumped, enthused, full of adrenaline. Then, as all things, the novelty fades and reality comes back. I made this routine for myself - I was stuck to this new regime for a good week. Then the "oh, I did it yesterday I can skip today" excuses kicked in. I was "busy". Tired. Had to clean. Whatever. I am now made of excuses.

I needed to figure out a way to stay motivated, so I did a little searching online to find good tips on staying motivated when all you want to do is catch up on my DVR.
I put together a list of things that helped me, and I wanted to share it with you guys in case we are all in the same boat, or just need that little boost to keep your enthusiasm up!

- Don’t start off trying to work out an hour every day and trying to lose 50 pounds in a month. Start with 20-30 minutes of exercise two to three times a week. Going for 10 pounds a week is unhealthy, and really overwhelming. It puts a lot of pressure on yourself, and that is when the motivation can fly right out the window.

- Don't forget to chart your progress, whether it's with a high-tech online tracker or an old-fashioned fitness journal. Seeing the tiny improvements, whether it's increased reps, faster walking, heavier weights, smaller measurements or working out more often, can really help boost your exercise motivation. This one tip really helps me.

- Don't compare yourself to others. Just don't do it. I don't know about anyone else, but it just depresses me.

- Have a support system. Maybe a friend can be a gym buddy or walk around the block with you. Help eachother out!

- Find some sort of fun in it. I HATE it and doubt I will ever find "fun" in sweating and huffing and puffing. I'm trying though, so that works. I don't do the gym, maybe one day, but for now I stick to at home DVD's and am attempting to walk more.

- You can make working out easier on yourself by splitting your exercise session into two or three sessions. Walk in the morning, do a dvd in the afternoon, walk again at night. This can be as beneficial as one long workout. So if you don’t feel like exercising for an hour at a time, do three sessions of 20 minutes each or something.

- Now my favorite, obviously lol. Reward yourself! Something that you enjoy, like a movie or shopping.
Try to think of treats that remind yourself that you are enjoying this because of all the great things you have been doing for yourself!

I hope this helped some people who are struggling like I am. I will do another update, or post another blog when I find some more tips or tricks that I would love sharing with all of you! Let's keep it up :]

Lots of Love,
XOXO Mary

Time to get healthy!

I'm not going to lie, I have probably one of the most unhealthy lifestyles. EVER.

I smoke.
I eat crap.
I don't exercise.
I hate and never drink water.

I know that all of those things need to change.
Summer '12 is going to be my journey to a healthier me!

I don't care what size my jeans are, or being in a bikini. I want to be healthy so I can stick around and enjoy life with my family and friends for many years to come!

My goal?
To be in shape and healthy.

So this is post #1. I think that if I know I need to blog it, I will be motivated to do it. Like I'm going to post multiple "Uh, I didn't do anything this week" blogs, right?!

More than ever am I inspired to get my ass in gear because I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic in January. Uh oh...

For week 1 of blogging my progress, I am talking simple changes. Diet. I'm not on a "diet". If I was, it would be all I think about, and it may turn out like all the other times I've gone on a diet - EPIC FAIL.
After meeting with a diabetes counselor and a nutritionist, I am on a low-glycemic diet [cutting out complex and simple sugars]. It's so hard, and I cheat - A LOT. I am really going to focus on what I eat.

I've started the diet about 4 months ago, but I need this exercising. I HATE it. So much. So, so much. But, it has to happen.

I also wouldn't mind to lose some weight. I've struggled with it most of my life and I would love to change my lifestyle to keep some weight off.

I have committed to www.teambeachbody.com. My friend Maggie is my "coach" and we have a FB page with other people to help motivate and cheer eachother on! You by all means can join us too if this is something you'd like to take on with us :] It's simple, you choose your at-home program, and record your results. I chose Power Fit Plus. It's two 20 minute dvd's and it comes with resistance bands. It's going to be my 60 day routine. I can't wait to see results!

If I was brave enough I'd put up my stats and before pics, but that ain't happening!

Thanks for listening to me rant ;] If you have any tips, or tricks, some advice maybe, PLEASE feel free to leave it below. It's always easier to do something when you know you have support and need to be the support for others <3

Lots of Love,
XOXO Mary

My Project 10 Pan!

Caution: This post is pic heavy.

I love watching the YouTube videos on Project 10 Pan, so I've decided that I am going to do it too. Like it says in my blog description, I have a serious makeup purchasing addiction. This stuff needs to be used up, AND it will [hopefully] keep me from buying any more.
I have to switch my addiction to something else... like jewelry, lol.

So here are the 10 products that I am going to include.
I won't be able to buy any makeup in it's "family" until I use up these!
Obviously if I finish a mascara, I'm going to buy another one, but you guys know what I mean!

Everything is brand new, just unboxed. So I'm starting from the beginning on all of these!

I am going to do updates on my progress, again with pictures.
I really wanna see how long these products last!

I would love to see anyone else's posts on this, or to join me in this quest.
We can do it together! Let's make our wallets fat!

~ THE PRODUCTS ~

Maybelline Line Stiletto in black.

Revlon Lip Butters in 'Creamsicle' & 'Sweet Tart'

EOS Lip Balm in 'Sweet Mint' - YUM.

Maybelline Colossal Volume mascara in black.
Olay facial moisturizer.

Revlon Age Defying concealer in medium.

Urban Decay Primer Potion - travel size.

WOO! This is a bunch! I can't wait to tackle this :]

Makeup 101 - Concealer

Do you feel like you look like this?

First off, let me say that what you see as "really bad circles" usually isn't as bad as you think. But with a little concealer we can eliminate this :] So let's get started!

Always remember that when you apply anything to your face, you want clean hands. Not doing this can contaminate your makeup or add whatever is on your hands onto your face ultimately hurts us in the end when trying to clear up a breakout! Dirt and oils on your hands will only aggravate the blemish.

Ok, types of concealers. My favorites are liquids and creams. Liquids are generally best used under the eyes as it is light in texture and won't settle into fine lines and wrinkles, or cake up and look, well, icky. Creams are good for a more full coverage. For example, a blemish, dark spots, redness, etc.

CONCEALING UNDER EYE CIRCLES
Warm up the product in the palm of your hand to "thin out" the texture so the coverage is smooth. You can also apply it right to the area with the applicator in your concealer. Now, make a triangle with dots of concealer. It's not as hard as you think. Start by dotting it under your eyes, a few dots on the side of your nose, and connect the line to the outer under eye dot. That creates a triangle!

You can use a brush to lightly and in circular motions blend the concealer. You can also use your fingers. The ring finger exerts the least amount of pressure since it's our weakest finger. It's important because the skin around the eyes is so thin, we don't want to tug on it and pull it. Premature wrinkles!
The triangle method brightens up the whole plane of your upper cheek and under eyes. If you want a glowy, highlighted effect, choose a shade or two lighter than your actual skin tone. Avoid going too light though – reverse raccoon eyes are not pretty. Don’t forget the upper lids! It makes the entire eye area more polished and draws attention up. Use stay-put eye makeup when applying dark colors. Flaky mascaras and powder eyeshadow can fall under your eyes and make dark circles reappear and look worse.

CONCEALING BLEMISHES, REDNESS, DARK SPOTS
Use concealer that is 1-2 shades darker than your skin.  If you use a light concealer, it’s only going to highlight the acne or blemish instead of hiding it. The trick is to blend around the edges or apply foundation over the concealer to smooth out the color difference. If you have redness from the acne, use a green concealer as it counteracts redness- you do need to apply foundation on top though so you don’t look like a big old weirdo ;]
To avoid over-application which can cause cakiness, apply a dab of these thicker formulas with your fingers and blending out will give you the best results!

ALSO
Concealer can be used as a lipstick primer. Just apply it to your lips before you put on color to make the true color of your lipstick more intense (your natural lip color can alter your lipstick). It will also give your lipstick staying power when set with a layer of powder on top.

You can also trace around your eyebrows to make them look sharper and neater. Always remember though, blend, blend, blend! It would be like having a foundation line on your face!

If you still feel that concealer alone is just not enough, you can use a corrector before applying concealer.

The yellow/peachy pigments give you an extra boost of brightness and help cancel out purple tones. The green is used to counter act redness. Experiment :]

The low down? In the battle for complexion perfection, concealer is your secret weapon.

Stay tuned for more makeup 101 posts! If you have any requests, let me know! I hope this helped some of you who are struggling with the massive amount of concealers out there :]

Lots of Love,

Makeup 101 - Foundation

Although not everyone is blessed with good genes, a flawless complexion is a desired effect for most women. Since we can't alter our body's genetics, we can still achieve this by doing it the way celebrities and makeup artists do - fake it! This simply means using makeup like foundation, concealer, and powder to hide or correct uneven skin tone, blemishes and unwanted spots.

We all have skin imperfections that we don’t like. Applying too much foundation or concealer can end up cursing you with “cake face”. It's a common problem when it comes to makeup. Maybe you don’t necessarily need a full face of foundation, maybe just a little concealer where you feel you need it and a very thin layer of powder on top if you have more oily skin and like to "set" your concealer.

Anyway, the main purpose of foundation is to even out your natural skin tone. Foundation is not meant to make your skin lighter or darker. That is what contouring and shading with bronzers and highlighters are for.The "perfect" foundation color will "disappear" into your skin.

It's important to know what you want from foundation. Do you want it sheer? Matte? Shimmery? Do you want to tone down specific areas of your skin or just even out your overall skin tone?

When you're shopping for foundation, make sure you're in natural day light or white light. Also, don't wear any makeup on your face! I suggest getting color matched in a store like Sephora or bringing a friend with you to the drugstore. If you go to a drugstore and can’t test the color, just hold up the bottle to your jaw line and have a second set of eyes there to help you find the closest match. When choosing a shade, try different ones and compare them. If you can try it on, always test foundation on your jaw line. If you see a spot or the color once it's dry, it's not right for you. It should be invisible, blending into your skin so your skin looks like skin, not makeup. Testing the foundation on your jaw line will help make sure you get the best shade that blends with your face and neck.

I found information on the makeup geek site breaking down the types of foundation, I will copy and paste it to the end of this post! [much easier than me sitting here and typing it all out since I've been so long winded already...]

Once you have your perfect foundation, make sure you apply it to moisturized and primed [if you wish] skin. Apply your face products in THIN layers. Don’t put too much on at first or it may cake up on you. It's easier to add more than it is to take it away ;]

I hope this helped some of you, and to those that requested it, good luck! And remember, it's just makeup. Everything is trial and error. Unfortunately that's the way it goes. What works on some people may not work on you and vice versa. That's why you should always get a tester before you drop the dollars on a high end foundation. Or, make sure the store has a killer return policy. Nothing sucks more than spending $50 on a foundation and never using it.

Lots of Love,
Mary xoxo

TIPS FROM MAKEUP GEEK

Use only enough powder to set the foundation- using a powder puff will help.  Too much powder will get cakey looking.

Let your moisturizer set for at least 10 minutes before applying foundation- your skin needs time to soak in the moisture.

If you are rushed for time, skip the full foundation and just use concealer on problem areas.  No powder is needed unless you have oily skin.

The best method to make your foundation last all day is to use a primer – this stops oil from breaking through and taking off your foundation.

TYPES OF FOUNDATION [FROM MAKEUP GEEK]

Liquid Foundation: Offers light to medium coverage. Available in moisturizing formulas with a satin finish for dry skin or oil-free versions with a matte finish for oily skins.

Cream Foundation: Offers light to medium coverage, slightly heavier than a liquid. Great for dry skin. Avoid using if you have oily or combination skin.
Stick: Foundation sticks also double as concealers. The new gel or powder finish formulas are not as heavy or greasy as the older "pancake" formulas.

Dual-finish compact formulas (liquid to powder or cream to powder): Medium  coverage Great for combination skin, but should be avoided by those with excessively dry skin or who need heavier coverage. Can tend to dry out your face.

Tinted moisturizer: Can be used under foundation or alone for minimal to no coverage. Almost like a liquid bronzer.

Mineral Powder Foundation: Offers light to full coverage. Comes in every shade and tone imaginable. VERY easy and fast to apply. Longer lasting than most foundations. Controls oil and most are waterproof with a natural SPF!

Curly Girl Tag :]

I found this tag while I was searching for fun tags to do on a blog. Youtubers always have tag videos, but there aren't many for us bloggers. But I found one, and it's right up my alley :]

Curly Girl Tag questions:

1. What inspired you to go natural or wear your hair curly?
- well, it's so much easier to work with your curls rather than against them. plus, i'm not a huge fan of having to do my hair [all the products, the flat irons, the blow dryer, etc.]

2. Who are your favorite curly hair idols?
- i don't really have any curly hair idols. to be honest, i haven't really noticed. i'll be keeping an eye out now though :]

3. Which You Tube curly would you trade curls with for a day?
- i really love Jackie from BeautyChaoticLive's hair, it's just like mine! i also love Grace from UglyFaceOfBeauty's hair. it's so big and wild and crazy!

4. If you could have only one product for a year, which product would you chose?
- if you read my latest blog post, it is now the Dove Oil Hair Therapy Detangler. just to get rid of the frizz. but a styling product? garnier fructis' curl spray gel.

5. If you could change one thing about your curls what would it be?
- my curl pattern. it's wavy at the roots, ringlet like in the middle, and then wavy again. it's a strange pattern, i'd like a uniform one.

6. What's the craziest thing you've tried on your "natural hair journey"?
- an oil and egg mask. SO GROSS!

7. What's your secret ingredient that your curls LOVE the most?
- again, the Dove leave-in detangler. nothing is worse than tangled curls!

8. If you could merge two brands of products to make your perfect product, which two would it be?
- ummm... i would merge my garnier spray get and a volumizing mousse :]

9. What is your go-to hair style when you're in a rush?
- i throw it all up on the top of my head and go!

10. If your curly hair had a name, what would it be and why?
- two face. it will either work with me, or it won't. it depends on what mood my hair is in :D

So yeah, there are my answers. I TAG EVERYONE WITH CURLY HAIR! This is a cute, fun little tag for a blog. Does anyone have any tags? If so, tag me!

Follow me if you wish, I'll follow back. The more the merrier :]

Review: Dove Nourishing Oil Hair Care [RAVE]

A RAVE REVIEW!
 Dove Nourishing Oil Care Detangler

Here is what Dove has to say about their product -

"The Dove® Nourishing Oil Care Collection transforms dry, rough and frizzy hair into beautifully smooth hair that’s easier to manage and style. Dove® Hair Nourishing Oil Care Detangler acts as a gentle leave-in conditioning spray with a dual-phase formula that won’t weigh hair down. Our unique blend of Dove® Weightless Nutri-Oils, now enriched with Argan Oil, nourish to help instantly detangle as it replenishes lost nutrients for soft, manageable hair."

Here is what I have to say about their product -

IT'S AMAZING and I agree with everything they say!

I have very dry, very damaged, very frizzy hair. I've tried all the leave-ins you can think of - Frizzease, Paul Mitchel, Tresseme, Herbal Essences, Suave, even Moroccan Oil. All of which did NOTHING for my baby hair frizz, my fried ends, and my coarseness due to processing and my natural texture.

I found this gem while I was merely looking for a new detangler and "oil" for my hair, and grabbed this one because it was less than $4.00.

I sprayed this liberally into my damp hair after a shower yesterday as per the instructions. I noticed a difference immediately. I combed it through and put my hair up in a messy bun. As my roots dried, I had no "halo" effect of frizzies and baby hairs. I took it down this morning, and no frizz at ALL. This is unheard of in my hair story! I don't know what it is about this product, but it's the best thing that I've ever put in my hair. Not even the Moroccan Oil did anything to my hair. It did nothing, I ended up giving that to a friend.

I give this product an A+ with as many pluses as possible. My hair is naturally shiny, but now it glows. I have no fly aways, no frizz, my hair is soft and bouncy. This is now a permanent product in my hair arsenal.

I recommend this to everyone. If it does nothing else, at least it will be a nice leave-in. If you have the same kind of hair as myself, or need something for frizz and nothing seems to work, you may be pleasantly surprised. As most hair and beauty products go, what works for me might not necessarily work for you.

But give it a try. Less than $4.00??? You can't beat that with a stick, and if you don't like it, at least you didn't spend ridiculous dollars for something like the moroccan oil like I did!

Hope this was informative and helpful to some of you out there struggling like I was!

How To: Wear Orange Lips

Orange lips are all the rage for spring and summer. I personally love this trend, it can be worn so many ways. In this post I show you 3 different ways to do an orange lip - from sheer to full on BAM! in your face.

Keeping in mind, orangey tones generally work with both brunettes and blondes as well as fair and dark complexions. It’s just a matter of finding your personal best shade of orangey goodness.

You can pair an orange lip with a golden eyeshadow, bronzer and you're ready to go. You can also rock this trend with simple black liner and mascara. Something more neutral - with such a bold lip, you want to keep the focus there and down play the eyes a bit. Always moisturize your lips first, because vibrant lipstick can emphasize chapped, flaky lips!

However, since there are no rules when it comes to makeup, you can do whatever you want to your face. These are merely suggestions :]

Below are pictures of a way to wear this color. Sheer, muted, and bold. I have done a simple copper eyeshadow, winged liner, and a frosty gold highlight on my eyes. On my cheeks I have some bronzer and a pinch of a peachy-pink blush.

Enjoy!

 Sheer Look
"Orange Juice" lipgloss by Sephora

Muted Look
"Ravishing" by MAC

Bold Look
"Lady Danger" by MAC

So there are a few options on how to rock this trend. As far as fashion and wardrobe is concerned, monochromatic outfits and simple neutral outfits can most definitely compliment this lip. Also, jewel tones can make this really stand out. Again, do as you will, there are essentially no rules in your personal fashion :]

Mary XOXO
