Little Black Bag - initial impressions

Today I signed up for my first subscription service, Little Black Bag!

Signing up was easy, you pick your first item from a 49.95 or 29.95 category and then the "stylists" pick 2 more items and add them to your bag.

The most interesting and fun part is the trading! If you don't like what the stylists picked, you "trade". For each item they picked, there is a number of people who want it and are willing to trade something from their bag for it. I had so much fun doing it! It's incredibly addicting.

You can either buy just one shipment, or sign up for a monthly shipment in the category you wish (the 49.95 or the 29.95).

I can't wait to receive my box! I am going to do a blog post 'unboxing' so be sure to look out for that.

I have a promo code for anyone who wants to sign up. You get free shipping and a free extra gift!

Little Black Bag link :]

I really think this is something that I am going to enjoy, I think the readers I have and the people I read would love it as well. Designer names for mega cheap?! Um, yes please!

Thanks for reading!

Plus, part of my new year's resolutions is to get back in the swing of things on my blog, so check your feeds often, my face will be there more!

Lots of love,
XOXO Mary

Review: Dove Nourishing Oil Hair Care [RAVE]

A RAVE REVIEW!
 Dove Nourishing Oil Care Detangler

Here is what Dove has to say about their product -

"The Dove® Nourishing Oil Care Collection transforms dry, rough and frizzy hair into beautifully smooth hair that’s easier to manage and style. Dove® Hair Nourishing Oil Care Detangler acts as a gentle leave-in conditioning spray with a dual-phase formula that won’t weigh hair down. Our unique blend of Dove® Weightless Nutri-Oils, now enriched with Argan Oil, nourish to help instantly detangle as it replenishes lost nutrients for soft, manageable hair."

Here is what I have to say about their product -

IT'S AMAZING and I agree with everything they say!

I have very dry, very damaged, very frizzy hair. I've tried all the leave-ins you can think of - Frizzease, Paul Mitchel, Tresseme, Herbal Essences, Suave, even Moroccan Oil. All of which did NOTHING for my baby hair frizz, my fried ends, and my coarseness due to processing and my natural texture.

I found this gem while I was merely looking for a new detangler and "oil" for my hair, and grabbed this one because it was less than $4.00.

I sprayed this liberally into my damp hair after a shower yesterday as per the instructions. I noticed a difference immediately. I combed it through and put my hair up in a messy bun. As my roots dried, I had no "halo" effect of frizzies and baby hairs. I took it down this morning, and no frizz at ALL. This is unheard of in my hair story! I don't know what it is about this product, but it's the best thing that I've ever put in my hair. Not even the Moroccan Oil did anything to my hair. It did nothing, I ended up giving that to a friend.

I give this product an A+ with as many pluses as possible. My hair is naturally shiny, but now it glows. I have no fly aways, no frizz, my hair is soft and bouncy. This is now a permanent product in my hair arsenal.

I recommend this to everyone. If it does nothing else, at least it will be a nice leave-in. If you have the same kind of hair as myself, or need something for frizz and nothing seems to work, you may be pleasantly surprised. As most hair and beauty products go, what works for me might not necessarily work for you.

But give it a try. Less than $4.00??? You can't beat that with a stick, and if you don't like it, at least you didn't spend ridiculous dollars for something like the moroccan oil like I did!

Hope this was informative and helpful to some of you out there struggling like I was!

Mary XOXO

"Naughty" holiday look

As promised, here is my naughty look :]

I really like how it turned out.

I did a purple and black cut crease, a silver lid, over the top lashes... contouring, a neutral blush and a purple lip (it's showing up a little pink, but it's purple).

I wanted major emphasis on the eyes, sultry and dark... very 'naughty' ;]

 [blowing kisses to Santa, haha]

Next up, a classic holiday look. Stay tuned :]
I love you for reading!

Nails of the Moment - "Flirty Rockstar"

I am really, REALLY loving the Sally Hansen Xtreme wear polishes. I think I have... 8 now? Anyway, I painted my nails with "Flirt", and added a coat of "Rockstar Pink" on my accent nails.

This is my "nail bye week". The week where each nail gets to the perfect shape and length. Next week, check my blog for my pre-Halloween "Candy Corn" nails. Eek! It's such an awesome concept. We shall see.

THEN, for the week OF Halloween, I'm going to experiment with nail design art. I have some ideas :]
Is anyone else incorporating the spooky holiday into their fashion?
I'd love to see!

Snippet #1... something DEFINITLY new ;]

So, I live life.

There are random moments in my life that are sometimes filmed.

Other than that, I don't know what to say.

Everyday people.

Lol, awesome sauce.

Theme Collab with YouTuber PiinkLemonaade :]

I watch a lot of YouTube, and while I was browsing I found a new girl to watch. Her tutorials are nice, and she is awesomely daring with her makeup sometimes.

I messaged her and asked if she would like to collab on a video/post theme, and I could have died when she said yes. Lmao.

Anyway, I got white wine, and she did red wine. Check out her video, I'm putting it at the end.
I hope you enjoyed this little combo. It was fun making it, and I actually got really into the white wine thing.
I even added some green and purple, and brown liner. It was fun!

I hope you like it, as always.
I really think it came out nice,
it kinda looks like bridal makeup though.

Check out PiinkLemonaade's video :]
[she hasn't posted it yet, when she does I will do an updated post]

Super fast EOTD!

I do this super fast when sleep is so much better than getting ready

This is Sidecar from the Naked Palette, and black Rimmer eyeliner. Oh, and L'Oreal Voluminous mascara.

I know, I know, my eyebrows. Whatever, when I'm in a hurry eyebrows is really not important lmao! anyway, just smudged the liner with the smudger that comes on the eyeliner. It's like a sponge. That's it, guided it where I wanted it and ta-da! I really like how it looks blue-ish. Very cool.

Also, I collaborated with one of my favorite YouTubers and we are doing a take on red wine and white wine. I got white wine, it's gonna be a good time ;] Look for it this weekend. I'm finally catching up on my blog reading!

Tiffany Blue?

I went to go buy hair dye today because, well, I'm dying my hair. Anyway, of course we browse the rest of the store before leaving.

BTW, anyone know a good, non-sticky frizz serum [not frizz-ease]?

So yeah, at Sally's and I saw Turned Up Turquoise by China Glaze. It was sold out the last time I went, so I snatched it this time. It's this really beautiful color, a deep emerald-y blue type of color. So I bought it and put it on, then got crafty and put little jewels. Well, the color looks like this...

But photographs like this...

"Turned Up Turquoise" by China Glaze

I have no idea how it went from a gorgeous greeny blue in person, to this on camera. I know alot of people love the Tiffany color, but I don't. I'm really disappointed I can't show what it really looks like but it's gorgeousssss.

Really pretty, this is my first China Glaze. I like this one, I give it a 4 out of 5, just because it changed to this awful color in EVERY light when I was trying to take pics...

I'm sure there will be a look up after I'm done dying my hair. I also have a request that I need to jump on. School starts very soon, so we'll be back to the old schedule :]

Lots of Love,
XOXO M

Pink Wednesdays & AOTD!

I haven't done a pink Wednesday in a while, so I decided to do a little 2 in 1 post today :]

First, here is the pink I chose today -

OPI's "Don't Socrate-tease Me"
2 coats of polish, Zoya top coat

I know it looks a little red in the picture, but in reality, it is a red/pink base with a reallllllly pretty pink iridescence. Click on the picture, you can see it better :]

Now, my AOTD (Accessory of the Day) -

Hello Kitty Bling Ring

Again, if you want a better look, click on the picture. I don't get why the pictures I put on here always load smaller than they are! Anyway, I LOVE this ring. Another e-Bay purchase. If you are smart about e-Bay, you can get anything you want. I always check the boxes for top rated seller, free shipping, buy it now, and new. Then I browse!

Back to the point. This ring was $4 from Beijing. No shame in my game, I don't care. I will buy something from China, everything is made there anyway ;] This is fun, costume jewelry. My friend said she'd punch me if I ever bought this with real diamonds. The ring is Swarovski crystals. The actual detail of the ring is amazing, looks just like Miss Kitty! I love it.

Have any of you e-bayed?

Lots of love,
XOXO M

Captain America - Super Soldier

PART 2

Here is part 2, the more literal of the series. Part 1 was classic 40's era makeup, and this is WAY more costume makeup [which btw, is my favorite makeup to do]

Here is the inspiration pic -

Here is my recreation -

I just did the eyes, because the face wouldn't really have been anything. No lipstick, nothing like that. Had I done my face I probably would have contoured with a gray toned powder. I wanted to keep it looking "dirty" - I am a soldier. Soldiers get dirty. I wanted to keep some of the star in the look, so I went with disconnected star points for my outer corner. I lined that with red to keep the red in the look as well.

Since the inspiration picture is so dark and dirty, I kept it just that. I used a bunch of grays and blacks, I used a bright silver on the inner corner for drama, and my lid just a very dark blue. I blended everything out with typographic from MAC. It's just a dark gray. This would be my Captain America super soldier war-paint.

This was so much fun. Another cool movie needs to come out so I can do some more :]
Tomorrow is going to be an AOTD and NOTD, so stay watchin' for that!

Love you all,
XOXO M

Um, awesomeness.

I'm in the middle of doing part 2 of my Captain America look (more literal, the "super soldier"), but I had to just share this -

[CLiCK THE PiC]
Yeah, that's what you think it is.

That's a suped-up Hello Kitty street racer. How awesome.
Off to finish my look, but just had to show you guys :]
